Coaching to Build Language and Literacy in PK-5
This course explores foundational components that drive the successful implementation of high-quality instructional coaching, with a focus on improving language and literacy outcomes. Participants will examine research-based coaching practices, core coaching principles, and the role of coaches as a form of sustained, high-impact professional learning. Through real-world examples, reflection, and application, learners will build the knowledge and skills needed to support teacher growth, strengthen instruction, and positively impact student learning.
Emergent Literacy
In this course, teachers will learn about the important emergent literacy skills of phonemic awareness, alphabet knowledge, and concepts of print, also known as print awareness and will be introduced to instructional routines they can use to teach these vital skills.
Knowledge Building for Literacy
This Course provides a high-level overview of the what, why, and how of building knowledge for literacy.
Oral Language is the Foundation for Literacy
The purpose of this course is to equip teachers with the knowledge of the components of oral language, their impact on literacy, and how to strengthen oral language in the classroom. Most importantly, this course provides teachers with the necessary tools they need to meet the needs of all students, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
